A Letter for my Friends in Tennessee

On March 13th 55 Canadians are jumping on a bus, and heading towards New Orleans, to do disaster relief work.  Due to bus laws, our bus driver can only drive for a certain amount of hours each day, which means we need to stay over night in Tennessee.  I was wondering if your church would be opened to having us stay the night on their floor. We don’t need anything fancy, all the kids have sleeping bags, we just need a place on the floor to put them.

The time is the issue.  according to a map, we SHOULD arrive in Tennessee somewhere between 10pm and midnight.. however, the past 2 years we have gotten held up at the boarder, for as much as 6 hours, which meant that we didnt arrive in Tennessee until around 3am.. or later.. we think we have a plan this year that wont get us held up at the boarder, but, whoever agrees to host us, would have to be open to the time changing, and of course we would be in phone communication to let whoever would be letting us in know what time we should arrive.

We would literally arrive at night, set up our beds, go to sleep, and leave by 7am Sunday morning.

We also need a place to stay on the way back.  We will be leaving New Orleans on March 20th around 7am, which puts us in Tennessee around supper time, BUT, we let the kids do some touristy type things, and would plan to arrive at our over night location (hopefully your church) by 9pm Saturday night, and we would do a debrief with the kids then (nothing required of you guys, just someone to let us in) and we would leave Sunday morning by 5am.

If you could pass this along to the “powers that be” at your church, and get back to me asap, that would be awesome.
