I am always amazed at what we can do with technology. As you all know, I’m a big fan of tech, and how we can use it. But today I found something absolutely amazing.

What you are about to witness is the first ever music collaboration to take place between earth and outerspace! How cool is that… and it happened between The Canadian band, Barenaked Ladies front man Ed Robertson and the Canadian Commander Chris Hadfield of the International Space Station.

Their song, “Is Somebody Singing”(aka I.S.S.) , was officially commissioned by CBC Music and the Coalition for Music Education for the upcoming Music Monday celebrations, the annual initiative championing music education.

Over the last couple of days I’ve been in the middle of a conversation with a couple of people in the comments section of a post over on iPhoneinCanada.com. Its on a topic that I’m very passionate about; changing the attitude of cellphone companies. You see cellphone companies, in particular the “big 3″ that being Rogers, Bell and Telus, have a monopoly on the market, and they know it. People go to these companies, because they don’t know that companies like “Wind Mobile” exist, or because Wind is so new, they are afraid the company is a scam, or that it’s going to fail once they sign up.

Today I went to a walk-in clinic in Charlottetown.. the free one, because the one i went to last month cost me $40 because even though I live in PEI, I don’t have my PEI health card yet, because it take 3 months for them to get to you.

The reason I’m going to the walk-in clinic is because we don’t have a doctor yet.. why you ask.. well because like every other province in Canada, PEI has a shortage of doctors, so the day we moved to PEI, we called the “number” and had our names put on “the list” and we will get called when there is a doctor who is accepting patients.

Here’s where my confusion is. I take a number of medications for my back. For those of you just tuning in, I have 7, yep, 7 herniated and 2 compressed disks in my back. I’ve been dealing with it now for about 5 years. Doctors aren’t sure why, I didn’t have a terrible accident or anything like that. They think it may be because between grade 9 and 10 I went from being the smallest kid in my class, to being the tallest kid in my class.. and now I’m medically considered to be a giant..and theres a chance that my spine didn’t grow as fast as the rest of me.

It’s no secret that I love Twitter.. I’ve been a member since February 25, 2008, and to date have sent 24,728 tweets, which if you do your math, works out to about 15 tweets a day since I started “tweeting”. If you’re wondering why I use Twitter, you can read about that here.

Twitter has many upsides, but it also has downsides. I want to write about those today. The main downside to Twitter is because it is such a short sentence, we don’t really think much about what we are writing, we just write it, and then life goes on, surely 140 characters can’t really have that big of an impact on anything right? I know that’s always been my attitude about Twitter. It was especially my attitude when I was living in Madoc, Ontario. It was a very small community, not very “with it” when it comes to technology. In fact, for a while I was the only person in our community on Twitter.

I haven’t done an album review in quite a while, and it’s not because I haven’t received any from Integrity music, and its not because the ones I’ve gotten haven’t been worth review.. When your Internet is provided through a tin can and a string, you try to stay off the Internet unless necessary! I listened to an album last night that I had to share with you, but it’s not one that comes from Integrity music.. It’s one I just happened on when I was making a playlist on Spotify (don’t ask.. Still have no idea how I was able to get back on Spotify)

The album, as pictured above, is called “Love Divine The Songs of Charles Wesley for Today’s Generation“. It is a compilation album where popular “modern” artists such as Brenton Brown, Tim Hughes, Kim Walker and Jason Roy (to name a few) have taken some of the popular hymns of Charles Wesley and arranged them in a way to make them more modern, and more appealing to todays generation. First.. This is NOT a post outlining all the issues in the Apple vs Samsung trial and the outcome.. It is my response of disgust to humans not taking responsibility when they have done something wrong.

If you’ve been following this blog, even for only a few days, you know that I’m an avid fan of Apple.. but lets get this out of the way now.. I’m not of the the sheep who just buy every product that Steve Jobs (RIP) stood in front of us and told us we needed to buy, in fact I’m still using am iPhone 4, because the 4s wasn’t a big enough upgrade for me, and my wife is using an iPhone 3g.. not even 3gs.. my MacBook is the original 2006 First generation white MacBook.. We also have a First generation MacMini.. its doesn’t even have an intel processor!! We’ve got a 3rd generation Apple TV.. but that’s because when we finally decided to get an Apple TV you couldn’t buy the 2nd generation anymore, because the 3rd generation had just come out.. people were selling their used 2nd generation for MORE than the 3rd gen, because you could jailbreak the 2nd gen, and that actually makes them more valuable then a brand new one.. My iPad is an iPad 2.. and I didn’t feel a desire to go out and replace it with “The New iPad” when that one came out…
