Buy My Book!… Please!

As many of you know for the last number of months I’ve been off work with a back injury, and I’ve been trying to find different ways to make money while I wait for disability to (hopefully) kick in.. I’m still waiting to find out if I qualify.. it’s a 6 month process.

If you’ve been reading for any period of time, you know that I’ve been running a small photography business for a number of years, but you also know that I LOVE iPhone photography. I decided that I would create a 80 page book of some of my favorite photos that I’ve taken and edited with my iPhones over the years. All the photos in the book have never seen a computer, aside from being laid out in the book editor. They were taken, and edited, and cross edited, strictly on an iPhone, sometimes with apps simple apps like instagram, sometimes with multiple apps like Camera+, Camera Bag, Photo FX, and Snapseed.

Create Custom Templates in Pages for iPad

Apple didn’t create a simple button in Pages for iPad to turn a document into a template, like they did in the desktop version. So how do we create our own custom templates for Pages on our iPad? A lot of us use iPads because of their convince in business, but how convenient is it if you have to add your business header or footer every document? It’s not..

I have however found a way to create custom “templates” for Pages on the iPad.. And you can do it right from your iPad.

Step 1: Open pages and create the document that you want to be a template.

Step 2: save that document as you would normally on your iPad. Give it a name

Adobe Announces Carousel

I’ve only been an iPad owner for about a month, but I’ve been looking into the iPad for a very long time, weighing and out weighing the benefits of buying one.. finally coming to a place where I decided in August to buy an iPad 2.. more on the big reason for the decision in a later post..

One of things I’ve thought would be great is if someone put out a REAL photo editor for the iPad, that gives you more than just a couple filters, but instead some true editing functions.. this would allow me, as a photographer out in the field, to take photos, and do a full edit on a photo.. it would be useful for a number of reasons.. those quick shoots where you need the final product quick for 1.. for example a headshot shoot.

Word Cloud from Wordle

Heres something cool I found today. Wordle is a website for generating Word Clouds.. you can either type the words you want to use, or you can give it a link and it will generate a word cloud based on the commonly used words on that website.. heres the cloud from my website (click for full size).
